✦ How Takedown Works
January, Handled
In January we reach out to schedule your takedown, so you are never chasing us to come and get the lights. On the day, the crew removes every run, every clip, every cord and every piece of decor: nothing is left in a gutter, on a trunk or coiled behind a shrub. Because the display was hung from clips rather than fastened to the house, it comes off clean.
We schedule the takedown date with you in advance rather than giving you a window, the same way we schedule the install. If you have garland, wreaths or other decor as part of the display, those come down and are packed on the same visit.
✦ How Storage Works
Packed by Run, Stored Off-Site
- Each run is coiled and labeled the way it was installed: which roofline segment, which tree, which side of the house.
- Clips, cords and timers are bagged with the runs they belong to, so reinstall is quick and exact.
- Everything is stored at our facility. Nothing takes up space in your garage, attic or basement.
Storing by run matters more than it sounds. It is the reason the same display goes back up in the same place the following year without re-measuring, and the reason a mid-season repair is a matter of swapping a labeled run rather than hunting for the fault along a tangle.

Takedown and storage is included in every full-service package at no extra charge. It is also available on its own for displays you put up yourself or that another company installed, if you want the January ladder work and the storage problem handled without having bought the install from us.

Common Takedown Questions
Do you take the lights down after the season?
Yes. Our full-service packages include installation, takedown after the season, and storage, so you don't have to deal with tangled lights or find storage space. We handle everything.
What if my lights go out during the season?
We come back and fix it at no charge. Our maintenance guarantee covers any outage during the season. Call or text us and we'll be out as quickly as possible.
When should I book holiday lighting installation in Louisville?
We recommend booking by October to secure your preferred installation date. Our schedule fills fast, especially for November installs. We take bookings year-round, so the earlier the better.
Do you install holiday lights in Southern Indiana?
Yes. Holiday Lighting of Kentuckiana serves both sides of the river, Louisville KY and Southern Indiana including Jeffersonville, New Albany, Clarksville, and Floyd's Knobs. Same team, same service, both states.
