Why Prospect Displays Are Designed Differently
Prospect sits on larger lots than almost anywhere else in the metro, and that changes the design more than the architecture does. Homes in Hunting Creek and along the US-42 corridor often sit a hundred feet or more back from the road behind mature landscaping. A roofline outline that would look generous on a city lot reads as a thin bright line from the street here, technically correct, and underwhelming.
The answer is to light the approach as well as the house: driveway edges, the trees flanking it, entry columns and gates, so the display has depth and leads the eye toward the home rather than sitting flat against the sky. Prospect rooflines also tend to be complex, with multiple gables and second-storey peaks, which means more linear footage and considerably more ladder work than square footage alone would suggest.

Most Prospect projects run $750 to $4,500. A roofline-only display on a smaller property starts at the low end of that range. Full estate installs covering the driveway approach, mature trees and landscape beds reach the top, and on a lot this size, that is usually where the money is best spent.

Why does holiday lighting cost more in Prospect than closer to town?
Three things: deeper setbacks mean the driveway and trees have to be lit for the display to read from the road, the rooflines carry more gables and peaks than a typical city home, and more of the work happens at second-storey height. It is a larger job, not a different rate.
Do you light long driveways, entry columns and gates?
Yes, and on most Prospect properties we would recommend it. A lit approach is what turns a roofline outline into a display you notice from the road, and it is the single biggest difference between an average estate install and a memorable one.
Can you work within neighbourhood HOA guidelines?
Yes. Several Prospect neighbourhoods have guidance on exterior lighting, timing or takedown dates. Tell us which applies and we will design and schedule to it, including removal deadlines, which are the ones most often missed.
